Senior: Walnut Hill has been a great experience. I am a four year senior in the music department and have been lucky enough to work with great, motivational faculty and wonderful, inspiring students. I have loved getting to know people from different countries and live on such a diverse campus. The connections I have made will be lifelong. Walnut Hill sets you up perfectly for college; especially in the arts but also in the academics, in giving you a worldly perspective, providing a change for independence whilst keeping structure and safety, and in incredible college counseling support. I love Walnut Hill.

Alum: The best in All-Boys Education. You will learn lessons as valuable in the classroom as you do outside of it (ie. on the field, on the stage, in social interactions). I spent five years at Avon Old Farms and played lacrosse, wrestled, ran cross country, played soccer, headed several clubs, and was the head of an on-campus dorm. The easy access to teachers provides students with every opportunity to access the academic resources necessary for success. The time spent off at Avon Old Farms will pay off in the long run for college success.

Alum: Williston was the best place I could have gone for high school. Even as a day student, I felt so connected to the entire Williston community that it left me smiling all day. The faculty were the most influential part of my experience. They are always willing to meet with you at any time of day, any day of the week. One of my math teachers at Williston even helped me prepare for 3 hours for my first college math final after I had already graduated from Williston!

Senior: I have gone to Eastern Christian School all of my life. Eastern Christian helps nurture students to become the best person they can be to be a role model for Christ to those around them. I love the friendliness of the teachers at my school. Ever since pre-K, my teachers have always supported me not only through my assignments, but also through the struggles of daily life. I love how Eastern Christian has so many engaging activities and sports. My teachers are so funny and creative in every way! The only change I would like to see in Eastern Christian is an Eastern Christian college. That would be incredible!

Parent: My children both graduated from AWS, and I am compelled to write this review because they are so wonderfully prepared for college. Thank you Annie Wright! The care and professionalism demonstrated by the teachers is amazing. My kids are not only academically prepared, they know how to advocate for themselves, and build relationships with their professors at college. They have started the boys school now I hear, and although I had some reservations initially, I do agree that this extraordinary IB education should be available to all kids in the South Sound. This school is making a difference in the lives of kids, families and helping the development of the region.

Senior: Berkshire is an amazing place that has truly shaped who I am as a person today. The opportunities here and endless, and every student truly has a voice in this community. All of the faculty members truly care about the success and wellbeing of each student, and all students are very supportive yet eager to succeed. Classes are challenging, but teachers, advisors, and other faculty members truly work with you and care to see you achieve your goals. Berkshire is overall a great community, and coming here is by far the best decision I've ever made!

Senior: Interlochen Arts Academy is an amazing school to go to if you really want to focus on your art form. The amount of artistic involvement provided every single day is incredible - half of the scheduled school day is arranged to provide students with major-specific classes like orchestra, ballet, painting, poetry, and more. The school provides many performance opportunities for students every week, from student recitals to orchestra concerts to open mic nights. That said, most of the dormitory buildings are old, and the cafeteria food isn't always great, but there's always a salad bar, as well as vegetarian and gluten free options. I've had a great experience with most of my teachers, and many of them provide extra time for their students to come in and ask questions outside of class. Many of the teachers are also aware that their students are committed artists and performers, and they are willing to be flexible with their assignments to help fit their students' schedules and abilities.

Parent: Great fine arts department with collaboration with Juilliard! Love that the students get to experience master classes in music, dance and art. Would like to see more opportunities for students in the arts out in the community. Great private instructors where music students can take private lessons after school. Love that dance classes are offered during the school day and can be used as PE requirement. Each day a different type of dance class offered. The school offers both academic and fine arts scholarships!

Sophomore: The education is great and the teachers are amazing because they really care about the students; They want to see us succeed. Not only are the teachers great but the on-campus facilities are awesome, there's a place for everybody t do the things they love to the best of their ability. Almost all of the people I know here are competitive and really make me challenge myself to be like them in character. I feel very comfortable inside the Chaminade community and, in short, I wouldn't want to have gotten my high school education anywhere else.

Alum: Villanova is an academically challenging high school with a beautiful campus, outstanding teachers/staff, phenomenal food, and diverse and unique students. The teachers here want only the best for their students and work extra hard to ensure that their student succeeds. They push you academically to be your best and help guide you through everything and they all genuinely care about the kids. Villanova also has the best college counselers who really bend over backward for their students success. The kids who make up this small community are all so kind with big hearts. Everyone wants to learn and make friends. Villanova is famous for not having "good" sport teams but I attended Villanova and I can say that sports is really what you make it. The students in sports work amazingly hard and everyone here really supports all of the sports. Every sports game is filled with students and signs. Send your kid to Villanova. You, and them, won't regret it.

Alum: St. Anne's-Belfield School is not only just a school to me rather a community made up of intellectual, kind, giving people who helped shape me into the person I am today. I was fortunate enough to be a student in such a prestigious school where I was surrounded by individuals who challenged and pushed me to reach my full potential. Faculty and staff not only showed up to teach students but more importantly cared about their students growing into better human beings. Being apart of an amazing small private school experience influenced me when trying to find the college best fit for me. Wanting a similar school atmosphere to the one I had been apart of for so long resulted in me choosing Dickinson. I would not be where I am today (an awesome private liberal arts school) if I had not attended St.Anne's Belfield School. The relationships made and the lessons learned throughout my high school journey are ones I will never forget.

Senior: I have attended Hawaii Prep since kindergarten. I am now Senior and I’ve loved all 13 years of it! HPA is no normal high school, it’s also an international college preparatory boarding school with diversity from all over the world! I’ve gotten the chance to meet people from Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, and Canada! It’s location is also unbeatable in the foothills of Waimea, a green, lush, cute little town on the Big Island of Hawaii. This school has provided me with endless opportunities and connections, from turtle tagging to camping in Waipio valley and the Volcano National Park. Our Natural Energy Lab has also given me all the technology I could possibly need to explore my passions in math and science. I’ve learned how to use and operate a 3D printer, Lazer Cutter, soldering irons, and much much more. I would recommend this school to any person of any back ground and first language. The majority of the school speaks multiple languages.

Freshman: I love Foxcroft! I love everything about it. From the food to students. I thrive here and always feel excepted. Classes are more challenging to prepare us for college. If we ever have a question or need help with a class we can go see any of the teachers after school during tutorial. After tutorial, we have required sports. The coaches make sports so much fun and easy to learn for beginners. The campus is so beautiful and there are so many fun activities to do around campus. We have events as a school and as a community will always support one another. The school is split up into Foxes and Hounds. It's a fun rivalry between the two. We have Fox/Hound gamed such as field hockey, basketball, and riding. Anyone can participate. There are also sing sing which is sorta like a prep rally and it's a fun escape from school. Foxcroft is the most amazing school and I could not have asked for a better blessing in my life.

Senior: The faculty and staff at Darlington are great! They really put forth every effort to help all students be successful. I like the small class sizes where I can discuss and ask questions as needed. Most faculty are available during office hours and beyond. During this time I can get one on one tutoring, or I can get clarification on a difficult concept. Many of the staff members treat me like family. If I'm sick, I mean really sick, they immediately notice and make every effort to make me feel comfortable. None of us are perfect, especially teenagers. so I like the consequences of work detail versus immediate in school or out of school suspension. It's exciting to get to know such a diverse group of students, many of whom have become good friends. There are many opportunities to get involved, or you can take a break and concentrate on your studies if that's your choice.

Senior: Academics are challenging. Small class sizes and enthusiastic teachers encourage student participation and engagement. Teachers dedicate much of their personal time to providing extra help for students. During my four years, I have never felt incapable of success because I felt comfortable in the classroom environment and knew that all the resources for success were at my fingertips. Secondly, Lawrence Academy has a great social culture because the school is too small for the typical high school hierarchies of popularity; it is a safe space for people to be who they want to be. My only negative review of the school would be athletics; coaches seem to have no clue what they are doing, even at the varsity level. Conclusively, aside from athletics, I am extremely glad that I came to Lawrence Academy and I would highly recommend that other students consider applying.

Alum: Canterbury School is a picturesque New England boarding school but it is not the lovely scenery that surrounds it nor the beautiful manner in which the classic architecture has been blended into its modern facilities that makes the school special, it is the people. Starting with the teaching faculty, then the administration, the staff and the student body, Canterbury has created an atmosphere it which young people can learn in many different ways and prepare themselves for college and life beyond.
I graduated in 1987 and have remained connected with the school because I am so profoundly grateful for the foundation Canterbury School provided for me.
I am fond of both my University and my Law School but neither likely would have been possible without my Canterbury experience.

This school has a very robust athletics program but it also has other after school activities, electives and signature programs that allow students to explore and cultivate their interests. For instance, my son has chosen to take International Relations, join the Model UN Club and take a Leadership Q-term. This school has given him the foundation and support he needs to embrace his interests and his education at the same time!

Senior: Shattuck St-Marys's is full of diversity. With kids from all around America to various international students. It makes your highschool experience different from any other as you are constantly learning about different cultures. Since it is a boarding school you get a feeling about what college is like. You learn to be responsible as an individual not only in your school work but also living alone. These are both fundamental things that one needs to know in college. The ratio of teachers to students is about 12 students to 1 teacher. This makes getting extra help easy and falling behind hard. Overall my years at Shattuck have been memorable and I have met people that I will be in contact with forever.

Alum: Some wonderful academics, values, and community. The school fosters passion in each student and helps push students to pursue their interests and gain a hands on experience. The way students are taught and engage with one another helps build confidence and self awareness. The largest issues I saw when I attended was a startling lack of racial diversity and an unwillingness to address racial biases of the students and faculty on campus. That is it's largest pitfall, the tokenization of students of color.

Works Here: I love the culture of Rivermont! It has a small, close-knit family of faculty and staff who go above and beyond in serving each other and their community. I have not seen such joyful sacrifice of time, treasure, and talents in a school as I see here. The students of Rivermont receive something truly unique in that faculty and staff care deeply about developing well-rounded, and centered people. This whole person development makes a beautiful paring with our top-notch academic scores.

Senior: Southwestern Academy is a small private institution. Because of the small population, I got a chance to participate in numerous activities. This wouldn't have happened if I attended a bigger school. Hence, the little student body forms a strong bond. We're like family. Moreover, the teachers are accommodating and friendly.

Parent: From an academic perspective the school has everything covered. Dedicated, innovative head of school - check, highly educated, caring & passionate teachers - check, involved parents - check, engaged & inclusive students - check, organic integration of academics and faith - check & mate.
What really sets the school apart though, is the marriage of these tangible strengths, with all the intangible things. Those special LCA moments, that once experienced, will draw you to the school. That “I get it now” feeling that happens to everyone who chooses LCA. You have to experience it, to understand it.
Our daughters aren't merely excited to attend LCA, they’re excited to BE LCA. To represent the school on the field & the court, in the classroom - doing shadow days with prospective students, in the world - telling their friends how much they love their school. Instead of trying to be something for everyone, LCA thrives by being everything for some - it’s a special family to be part of.

Senior: I am currently a senior at Holderness School, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. From the Outback program (11-day winter camping trip) to my senior thesis project I have been able to learn a lot about not only myself but others as well. Learning at Holderness is unique and that students get to study topics more in dept through discussion-based learning and push for students to present their thoughts in the classroom. This has lead students to find what they are passionate about and what they want to study in college. My favourite part about Holderness has been apart of the close-knit community. With only 280 you get to know everyone, allowing the students to get to know people they usually wouldn't be friends with and for no cliques. On Saturday nights the whole student body is doing something together whether that be sleding or at the headmaster's house for brownies.

Students can select a rigorous (Honors/APs) or regular curriculum ensuring confidence. Students are well advised through the college process because they know their students so well. How many high schools have AZA accredited zoos or paid summer internships or a canopy walkway? Millbrook has provided our son opportunities on and off the beautiful campus which have fed his passions and goals. The students are friendly, respectful, grateful and engaged. This is a first class boarding school with fabulous facilities.

Senior: Small class size, pro-active teachers who are always willing to make time for you. Each HS grade is comprised of approximately 100 students and you know almost everyone in your grade and the entire high school. I learned so much about myself and how fortunate I am as community service is required at Friends. It speaks to one of the underlying Quaker premises of treating others as you wish to treated. Spending time working (cleaning, cooking, food prep and kitchen work) at a Friends Seminary homeless shelter and then in the evening interacting with the men was ENLIGHTENING!

MacDuffie is a quite diverse school with students from all over the world and everyone is treated equally. There are many leadership opportunities here for the students and quite a lot of extra-curriculum activities to choose from. The teachers here are all very nice and always willing to help. The teachers go above and beyond to make sure that my children can be successful academically, and they genuinely care about the overall well -being of my children. In addition, I love all of the opportunities that are available to my children outside of the regular classroom. Senior: One thing I absolutely love about this school is the size - which amounts to 200 students in total. It's so easy to get involved, start clubs, become a "big fish", and make lasting connections with students and faculty. If I had gone to another prestigious boarding school with a competitive academic environment and a larger student body , I don't think I would able to grow as I have here. Additionally, the tuition is extremely affordable for everyone!

Junior: I am a a student here at Knox, in my junior year. I first transferred here in the middle of my sophomore year. Truthfully, when my mother first told we were going to check out The Knox School, I was not at all happy about it. Mainly because I didn’t like the idea of going to a Private School, instead of a Public School. I agreed to go to one of their open houses to make her happy. When I left,I had a whole different opinion; I realized my public school wasn’t going to fully prepare me for high school. More importantly they made me feel at home. When we left the open house, I told my mother that I changed my mind, and that I would like to go to Knox. That’s why I really think attending Knox was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Sophomore: Coming from public school, Gould gives me a completely new environment to learn in. What's always struck me as the biggest difference is the environment- everyone is genuinely helpful and polite, and there is a culture of genuine respect that's helped me focus on my education. Other than SATs and ACTs and other college admissions tests, there is no standardized curriculum or testing, so the departments work to create their own curriculum based on students' performances in past years. Experiential learning has a big place, and classes will often cross over or connect between subjects and teachers. Academic subjects are presented in ways appropriate to modern culture and society, and students are encouraged to have active discussions in relatively small classroom settings. The school is a bit limited in opportunities for clubs and groups because of its small size (at least compared to most public schools), but there are definitely some of those opportunities there.

Parent: The Kiski School is a great prep school fully focused on motivating and educating boys. Kiski has dedicated teachers, student advisors, and coaches and many of them reside in and lead the dorms. Kiski has a gorgeous campus with great indoor/outdoor facilities. College placement is strong. The students benefit from successful & recent capital campaigns and renovations to campus. The student center is wonderful, the updated dorms are comfortable, and the new athletic center is superb. The students are required to take part in a sport each season and this has a positive impact on the united culture of the school. There are different music/art clubs and they've been adding exciting new STEAM components to the curriculum. Nice weekend activities for the students including dances, concerts, movies, and trips to restaurants and museums in Pittsburgh. A special positive "Kiski brotherhood" that exists and permeates the campus. It's true: Kiski is a transformational place for boys.

Most of the teachers I've had have been great and very supportive, even when I haven't been the best in their class. Very easy to be involved in various clubs, sports, and activities. The facilities are fantastic, I personally am very fond of the Arts and Theater building. Very easy and necessary to find friends. The dorms are great, especially the senior dorm. The food is better than most but has its off days occasionally. The only complaints I have are that headmaster cares more about reputation than the students and the school could use a bigger place for students to hang out at during their free time.

Senior: Cheshire Academy is like my second home. Freshman year, I attended a public school, which I was not happy at. I didn't have many friends, teachers didn't care, and I felt like a number in a big crowd. At CA, it is the complete opposite.
When I first started, I was afraid I would not fit in because it's a prep school, but I was proved wrong. The school is extremely diverse as it has students from 33 different countries! With all the different cultures coming together, people are forced to be more accepting.
I have amazing teachers who want nothing but to help me succeed and are always willing to help if I am ever struggling. Last year for my final exam, my math teacher spent three hours helping me study! I am never afraid to ask questions or go to any of them with my personal problems.
I give lots of credit to CA for who I am today as I have become so much more outgoing and happy. I am never afraid to be myself and I now know how to be more successful in life.

However, at OVS, the school community, the faculty, the students, the maintenance crew, everyone makes this school unique and wonderful in their own way, its not only a school that shapes who you are and who you become, but you have the opportunity to shape the school as well, you don't feel like just another student that will spend four years earning and education and then getting booted out the door, at OVS you feel like you are a contributing member of the community.

Parent: My son is now a Junior at Marianapolis. I am so grateful we have been able to send him to MPrep. It is an excellent school academically, but even more than that, the teachers and staff are very dedicated and caring. The atmosphere is very kind, generous, supportive, and trusting. It has been a very good fit for my intelligent, but somewhat introverted son. The small class size, supportive caring teachers, really, really kind fellow students, and the atmosphere where everyone can try new things really makes MPrep the best! My son said to me after his first few weeks as a freshman that he could just not believe how nice and kind everyone was. He had come from a public school environment where there were cliques and some bullying as well as worn-out sarcastic teachers. He continues to say that a couple of times a year.

Senior: I joined Perkiomen community as an international student during my junior year, and I can certainly say that year was the best in my whole school career. Teachers are very helpful, they always try to find the best possible way to help their students. Some subjects are too easy. However there is a huge range of classes to choose, which is amazing. Sport teams are fantastic or just decent depending on which sport you are interested in. Gym and facilities are amazing, keep boarding students entertained and fit. Food seems to be really good for first few weeks, but as a boarder student, especially vegetarian, I find it sad to see my weekly menu. There are surely great options for meat-eaters, but not for people that avoid meat in their diet. Dorms are cozy and dorm parents are real sweethearts. There are plenty of weekend trips. Overall atmosphere at the campus is lovely. Plus there are many dogs! It’s not surprising to eg. find yourself patting a cute puppy during Spanish lecture.

Parent: An absolutely lovely school with a warm, kind, welcoming community. We were looking for such a community when we toured schools since we found that so many schools in Marin have top-notch academics, but they don't always pay close attention to the social/emotional development of their young students. San Domenico purposely considers both. Our son feels challenged academically while feeling supported and valued. He is so engaged with the curriculum--way more than I was at his age. I wish I could go back to school. And the campus! Gorgeous and peaceful. It smells like redwood trees.

There are so many genuinely nice people that care about you here. Even many of the teachers want to see you succeed personally. Alum: I attended St. Timothy's after looking locally at other private day schools in the Baltimore area for high school. I graduated from a small private co-ed primary school and STT was a great choice for me - the transition into high school and then later into college were both seamless and I was always very well supported. I fell in love with the small classes, welcoming environment, traditions, and genuine friendships. Not to mention the beautiful campus is a plus and the IB curriculum pushes you to achieve more than you ever thought possible!
As a Day student for all four years in a residential/international community the school provided a multitude of opportunities and global experiences, which I would not have received otherwise. I am forever grateful for my STT memories and the lifelong friendships I have - not just in Maryland, but all over the world. TY STT!

Freshman: This school is so supportive for all the students. The teachers really want the kids to do well and will stay after school for as long as it takes to help. The atmosphere is like family. The opportunities are so varied and amazing. Different cultures enrich the school as we all learn about the world together.
The only thing I would change is more recognition for Baseball. It seems it NEVER gets mentioned in the weekly news, there are hardly any coaches and JV always gets a raw deal. It needs a bigger budget and it also needs recognizing by the school as much as football and basketball and volleyball.
In Public schools baseball is extremely high profile and very competative. The coaches are renowned for producing winning teams. We have so many talented players in WPS and yet we never get a mention. Our hard work needs recognizing, as we are all so proud to represent our school. GO LAKERS!

Senior: Attending Dunn School for the past 3 years has been a great experience - especially with regard to the incredible diversity of the student body. I was adopted from Nepal, and it was so great to be able to go to school with kids from all over the world. In addition, I had wonderful relationships with my teachers and was more engaged and definitely participated a lot more in class than I would have in a larger school with more kids in each class. I also liked that the school offered many enrichment classes and other activities outside of academics that provided great learning experiences for me.

Parent: Chapel Hill Chauncy Hall is transforming my daughter’s future. In her year and a half as a CH-CH student (currently a sophomore), she has become motivated and confident, allowing her to grow academically and personally. Her dedicated teachers, advisors and coaches are always able to assess her learning style within weeks of meeting her, resulting in constructive and encouraging environments where she truly learns. Her relationships with her teachers motivate her to work hard and provide her with the confidence to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. Her teachers know when to push her beyond her comfort zone, take risks and prepare for challenges. I have no doubt that my daughter has a bright college future. I owe this to Chapel Hill Chauncy Hall for their ability to know and understand my daughter and meet her needs, all while providing her with an excellent education.

Parent: We are finishing up our 1st year at La Lumiere school. My daughter has transitioned well and love's her new school. Her grade school friends attend other schools and it's so refreshing to hear that she doesn't have the same "experiences" at La Lu! She's really thriving and enjoying High School and that makes this mama very happy.
I've witnessed other hard-working students from La Lu acknowledged in the community and awarded for their hard work. This assure's me that she's getting a top-notch education and has access to resources necessary to reach her full potential!
Their focus on culture and cultivating an atmosphere of personal responsibility, inclusivity, and respect for self and others is refreshing! La Lumiere is a blessing to our community and my family.

Parent: Amazing school! We just started this fall and so far the faculty, staff, and administration has been extremely welcoming! Our children love going to school, and always come back with stories of what they learned, ate (delicious chef-made meals), and did either at the pool, gym, or playground. It is a well-rounded school with a nicely balanced curriculum that combines academic rigor with a great arts program, athletic department, and music program.

Senior: Best decision I’ve made. The campus is, clean, new and fantastic!
Impressed with put-into-practice differentiated learning, not just say they do it. The curriculum is robust and the professors are incredibly talented at making learning fun and accessible to our students. They emphasize the positive and teach students great values & social skills. Having smaller class sizes allows professors to truly know everyone’s strengths & challenges.
The school is diverse and the teachers really care about we students. We absolutely fall in love with the wide variety of classes, programs and clubs offered. It’s highly academic In STEAM, but at the same time we have art, music, language and PE for all grades. The school also offers many social opportunities through evening activities & outings and educational workshops. With this balance I feel EF Academy develops the individuals academically and socially while at the same time is warm and nurturing.

Alum: This is an amazing school! I arrived in late 2013, and I graduated in the class of 2017. My years here were magical and life changing. I become a more competent and responsible person, and the opportunities I received in the program were phenomenal. If you want your child to succeed, then the best school for them to attend is this one. I just finished writing my book Comedy Is No Joke! The Stand-up Comics' Guide to Success, and I am moving my comedy show to LA later this September. I wouldn't have been able to accomplish these feats without the knowledge I gained at Delphian.

Junior: I cannot say enough about how much SEM has helped me grow and evolve as an academic and as a leader! When I first came to SEM, I believed that I was only an above-average math/science student however, after just one year at SEM, my teachers' passion and encouragement completely changed my mind, and I now plan to pursue a major in biology in college. Before coming to SEM, I thought that the only kind of leadership that one could assume in High School was to be the class president, yet SEM proved to change my perspective again! Apart from the vast number of opportunities there are to be a class officer, club president, or sports team captain at SEM, there are other ways to be a leader as well; I learned to lead a dialectical discourse at SEM's harkness tables by inviting others to share their thoughts. SEM has given me the confidence and motivation I will need to venture out into the world and onto college while also giving me a warm and welcoming place to return to as my alma mater.

The fact that there is students from over 80 different countries makes it even more successful and a great experience. We are all exposed to other cultures and languages which gives us even more than you can think of. As a experience MVA is great, you will learn new things, meet new pwople, make friends for lifetime and also enjoy the amazing sports programs the school offers. We have some famous athletes graduated from mva and we keep pushing the rest to reach excellence with the great coaches and even greater facilities the academy has.

Parent: IAA invited my son into an academic and artistic community, comprised of faculty, staff and students communicating in a wide variety of languages, reflecting real diversity from around the world and within academic and artistic disciplines. While giving my son clear and rigorous guidance on the fundamentals and the incremental steps required to master any particular academic or artistic competence, he was encouraged to explore and take risks within his studies and projects. He learned and developed confidence in and out of the studio and classroom, through which experiences he developed resilience, when he fell short or erred on his path towards his goals. The administration provided structure and rules, with clear communication and warmth and nuance, as needed. His teachers held him accountable when he needed a check and built an independent path for enriched study in areas when he wanted to reach further.

Senior: Thornton-Donovan is a smaller international private school that is open to students grade K-12. The student body is under 200 and very tight-knit. There’s a strong sense of community around campus that isn’t present at larger schools. A decent portion of the student body are transfers from countries such as Albania, China and Kenya. From an academic standpoint, T-D is unique because the curriculum thematic, with courses being offered that teach students about the history and heritage of a particular country for that school year.

Sophomore: I chose to go to Orme because of the poor quality of the education I was getting in my public charter school. Even though my charter school was the best in the country, it was a very cold, un-personal experience. At Orme my teachers all know me personally and know how I best learn. They also challenge me daily in and out of the classroom. My classmates are from around the world, which is pretty cool. I can say I have friends from almost every continent!

Parent: The White Mountain School is a wonderful, caring, connected, and diverse learning community. Set in a beautiful location, the school is well equipped to offer unique sports such as mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, and skiing. Independent types who enjoy a thoughtful curriculum and an opportunity to explore new places will enjoy both the small class size as well as the field courses that allow students to engage with the world. The school is small enough to enable students to know all fellow students and staff, but large enough in its thinking to create positive extra-curricular options such as robotics, organic gardening, photography club, etc. A wonderful place that helps students develop the skills they will need to thrive in college. Adjusting to the boarding environment can be challenging, but the staff is always approachable and welcoming when it comes to ensuring student well-being. Thanks White Mountain...!

Junior: I transferred to the Saint Johnsbury Academy midway through my freshmen year, striving to attend a high school with a diverse student-body, greater creative opportunities, and strong academics.
What I received from my experience here has far surpassed any expectation I had.
Although I have had my rough patches, and negative experiences, the passion of the teachers, and students alike, have contributed in making one of the most memorable high school experiences I could ask for.
As a student with a passion for the arts, (music, theatre, etc.), the St. Johnsbury Academy has provided me with training I would've thought unheard of in this area of the State. From a creative, and large group of talented actors and wonderful theatre productions, to a dance instructor who has worked professionally her whole life, every ounce of artistic training I have received has benefitted me, and my journey on-ward. I feel lucky to have gone to the St. Johnsbury Academy!

Sophomore: Dublin is an amazing school with an incredible community and diversity. Everybody at Dublin is open and accepting of all new members of the community. The teachers are wonderful, they are there for the students always and make it very easy to reach out and get extra help. They are always open to the individual learning needs of the students. The community is one of the best parts of Dublin. There are not boundaries on who someone can be friends with which makes connecting with people from different backgrounds than yourself really easy. This school is such a great environment to grow through your adolescent years as it is structured enough to offer help but gives a lot of independence to allow each student to develop important time management skills and a good work ethic. If you’re looking for an amazing school with a great group of students and teachers then Dublin is definitely the place for you!

Parent: We have been a Rancho family for over 10 years. We started when my son was 3 y.o. The curriculum has always been at least a year ahead, if not more, compared with local public schools. Class size is often 10 children/ class room. The individual attention each student receives is incredible. Every teacher and staff member, knows who my children are and where they should be. Furthermore, the teachers knowledge of our children's strengths and weaknesses is unparalleled. The nurturing environment is why my children feel so safe and content at this school. We feel very lucky to be able to be party of this community.

There is always a teacher to help review the classroom work and make sure the student is learning. Teachers at this school are very invested and have the time built into their schedules to be available to students. Additionally the sports are wonderful. Senior: The staff here really care for the students. Through holding teacher office hours nearly every day, they demonstrate us sacrificial love. Through their willingness to talk with us when we have questions or simply when we feel stressed, they inspire servant leadership in us. Through their industrious efforts to create a friendly, growth-oriented learning environment, we build up one another, not looking to our own interests, but each of us to the interests of others. Fully equipped with a broad base of scholarly knowledge and strong morality, I, as a student graduating soon, will be able to serve in any venue of life -- wherever God calls me to.

Niche User: This school creates an environment where teenagers thrive. The sense of community responsibility pervades all aspects of school life. Not only are they helping clean, prepare meals and shovel snow, where else can students plant the farm and help with farm animals? Scattergood offers unique and exciting trips which students will have no where else, such as a week of community service in Chicago, Freedom School in St. Louis, cross-country skiing in the boundary waters and traveling to Bolivia, just to name a few. the diversity of this student population is second to none, which is so important when students explore and discuss school and social issues/subjects.

I’ll never forget the Headmaster telling parents, at the beginning of the school year, that we would not recognize our children by Christmas...that we would see maturity, commitment and growth we could only imagine in the beginning. His words were so true. My daughter went from fair grades to NHS, Commencement Marshall, Cadre and a Merit Scholarship in a few short months. This is a life altering academy of great knowledge and experiences. Thank you, RMA!

Parent: Gilmour is a great for many reasons. There are many wonderful academic, extra-curricular and sports opportunities. The moral and spiritual development of the students is a great priority. Most teachers are extremely dedicated and willing to assist students in any way they can. A few teachers would be more successful teaching on a collegiate level, since they basically utilize a lecture style of teaching. Overall, a wonderful school with a very welcoming atmosphere.

Junior: The features I've enjoyed most are the extracurricular freedoms, the variety of faculty backgrounds, and the large student body.
If interested in joining a club, most do not require a commitment. If one wants to create a club, 10-15 members, and a faculty advisor is all that is needed (I'd know, as I started the Book Club), making the extracurricular process very efficient.
Our faculty is comprised of Ivy-league graduates, a teacher who worked on the first research initiatives for cellular communication, and a few paramedics. The variety of faculty is conducive to an environment in which all student's diverse interests can be fostered.
The large student body means that even if you have unusual interests—say you're 80's pop culture stuck in a teen's body (like me)— you're sure to find one other student who will finish "Whoah, we're half..".
My least favorite feature of my school is that despite our large size (which ensures some diversity) there is still some insularism.

Senior: I love AOA! I have been there for more than 4 years now and I can’t imagine myself anywhere else. The classes are challenging, but the teachers are always there to help you whenever you need it. The classes are small and I feel like I get all the attention that I need in order to succeed. The lunch is okay, there are many options for different diets. The theatre program and arts program in general needs some work but is still in the process of being completely revamped. The athetics are pretty good, they recruit a lot of foreigners to play sports for them. Overall it’s a great school for people who love to learn, love different kinds of people, and love the feeling of a close knit, family like community full of creativity!

Alum: Diversity is the best thing about it. Students who attend CATS are intersting and ambitious young people. I had an amazing time making friends. Some of the teachers are truly great, they are ready to go above and beyond to help students achieve their goals. On the other hand, there are some teachers who are really unkind and unhelpful. The principle and the student affairs departnment, as well as most of other saff including dorm parents is horrific. They are people who are having personal issues and are not healthy for school environment. Of course, there are exceptions. I personaly had a great dorm parent, and I wish other students can get the same experience.

Niche User: Stoneleigh-Burnham has exceptional academics which match or exceed most New England prep schools. Faculty members are all very dedicated, involved, and progressive. Classes are small and, as a whole, the school is very liberal. The high standards of work are unmatched and the community is very close knit. Current issues with the school and its management include a corrupt administration and lack of transparency. The school has had several major scandals including a recent one in 2018. As with many private schools, Stoneleigh is notorious for a lack of transparency and continues to attempt to brush problems that arise amoung staff under the rug. For a well rounded view of the school, I suggest looking at this Boston Globe article which outlines a particular and telling instance involving SBS.

Alum: This school has a strong culture to it. There are countless ways to get involved be that through academic clubs, arts, sports, technology, etc. The majority of teachers are stellar (of course a student isn't going to love every single one of their teachers). After graduating from here I still keep in touch with my teachers. The level of education is truly what you make of it. In almost every subject you can choose what level (ranging from regular, college prep, advanced, honors, AP, CIS/PACC) so if you want a hard schedule, there's the opportunity to do so. The facilities at the school are very well funded, teachers truly care about the students, and students are overall happy.

Alum: I loved my experience at GFS! I was there from 6th-12th grade and grew a lot with my class. As a Black girl on campus, it was hard at times to fit in and even feel included as time went on. With their new director on Diversity and Inclusion, they are making strides on changing the campus culture. Being at the school for so long, my identity as a POC was altered by the majority white students on campus. It was hard to regain my identity, but I am successfully doing so as a college student and alumna who visits GFS often. If you're interested in the school, go and take a tour. Make the decision as a family and if you ever get the feeling something isn't right, go to a trusted teacher, counselor, principal, or director of Diversity and Inclusion.

Throughout my time spent there, my academic and athletic accomplishments truly flourished and improved to the point where instead of needing help from other students, I was the one helping those students out. Orchard Lake St. Mary's, for as long as I can remember, went by a statement, "1. God 2.Family 3. Parent: Our 3 children attended Everest Academy & Everest Collegiate. It was the best family decision we have made. Our 3 kids were well prepared for college and well prepared for life's challenges. Our children can view situations with an open heart & mind & make decisions based on the fundamental truths of what is right and just. It was important that our children understood the history & teachings of the Catholic church. There is no Catholic school in this area that is teaching the Catholic faith like Everest. If your faith is important to you and you want your children to understand what they believe and why then this is the school for your family. We feel you can get a good education at other schools but what makes Everest different is that they incorporate God's truth and teachings into their subject matter. As a parent, I also learned truths & traditions about my Catholic faith that I was never taught. We grew in faith as a family, you can not put a price on that!

Although lots of excellent teachers left recently, most new teachers still have good teaching skills. Also, the faculty really care about students, if you need help, they will definitely talk to you and solve your concerns.
However, there are several limitations that hinder the school from getting a five star. It is too rural! It is literally located in the middle of nowhere. There are merely a few shops and chain restaurants, and for international students like me, we can only go there by school bus on Monday and weekends, sometimes on Wednesday. Also, drugs and cigerrates are present on compus.
